I’m a native of York and graduated from York Country Day School. I was raised by a loving foster family until later moving in with my paternal grandparents – my grandmother Rev. Roberta Johnson, who has served over 35 years in prison ministry, and my late grandfather Richard Johnson, a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. I come from a strong lineage of six veterans – of both the Air Force and Army – who served in both world wars, Korea and Vietnam.
I worked as the communications and global connectivity manager for the Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown University, alongside former US Ambassador to Denmark Cynthia Schneider. Previously, I served in the White House as the advisor and assistant to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Before my time in the Obama administration, I worked for US Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr.
I was the first person in my family to attend college, graduating from Georgetown University with a Bachelor’s of Science in International Affairs. I also received a Master’s Degree in US Foreign Policy from The George Washington University. I also interned for the Embassy of France and Senator Casey and worked at the Georgetown University Law Center.
In York, I was very involved with the Rotary Club 7390 (who sponsored me as an exchange student in France). I also volunteer at the Jewish Community Center, Helping Hands, and the Spanish American Center of York - Centro Hispano Jose Hernandez.
